Welcome to Shishu Kishore Akademi

Shishu Kishore Akademi, an autonomous organization under the aegis of Information & Cultural Affairs Department, Govt. of West Bengal. This organization works for the overall development of children and adolescents to bring them into the threshold of literature, culture and different field of creativity through different cultural activities, like organizing workshops and seminars, programme, festival along with Publication of various books and bimonthly journal "Chirasabuj Lekha".

Mission & Vision

Discover hidden talents and development of moral and social values in children and juveniles.
Organizing workshops, seminars, programmes, festivals for intellectual and physical development of the children and juveniles, to make them overall creative.
Publication of children books of different subjects, Periodical, bulletins for the said purpose.
Organizing competitions to recognize the creativity and skill of the children and juveniles all over the state.
Effective implementation of the objectives of the Akademi by organising district wise activity based programmes.
Conservation of children literature by collecting old manuscripts and books.
To set up a comprehensive library for children.
To provide appropriate support to the children and juveniles residing in social welfare homes and children with special needs for their overall development.
